Review STM iPad Air Case
So I have been lucky enough to grab a new STM Dux case for the iPad Air, review and thoughts below
Like all my tech I take great pride in making sure the iPad Air remains in pristine condition at all times. Since day one it has lived in a Targus heavy duty case and it has done a decent job but I was looking for something new and different and STMBags stepped up with sending me the Dux case to review.
so let’s get the tec specs out of the way:-
*Tested to meet or exceed US Dept. of Defense Standard 810F/G protocols
*Survives extreme drop test at 6.6 feet or 200 cm
*Super protective polycarbonate and rubberized TPU bracket for even the most accident prone among us
*Clear back to customise your device with personal images, scan a tagging barcode or allow your pristine device to shine through
*Durable and water resistant polyurethane cover to ward off an occasional drip or spill
*Patent pending magnetic closure for an easy fold into the perfect typing or viewing position
*Instant on/off cover wakes and turns the device off saving battery life
*Designed to fit and protect your iPad Air
*FREE RewardTagTM sticker included. To activate, visit stmbags.com/rt
Point of note is that i have used stock images, this i due to an ongoing injury (see here) I had surgery to repair ligaments so this review has taken so far 4 days as i cannot type well left handed.
So i got the parcel from Jessica at BleatPR and after i opened it my first thought was how light it is, weighing in at 300g it feels a good bit less than my Targus case. Packed in a nice upmarket cardboard packaging it sure beats plastic you cannot cut into unless you take a finger with you. Inside is the case with STM logo on the bottom left on the textured cover.
Lifting out the case it again struck me on how light it is, the see through rear cover is a great touch as most cases cover everything so its nice to still see the Apple logo on display. As is the norm STM have cut outs for all ports and the headphone sockets cut out can be used with third party offerings.
There are a number of cuts made into the case to improve when holding and make it more comfortable. Having recently used it in hospital in real world and not a test set up it came into its own, light, classy, durable its a case that can offer brilliant protection against drops but is light and comfortable to hold and use
The STM Dux is availble in grey, red and blue and can be used on the Air and Air 2 as well as the mini from here.
In short brilliant and well worth a punt if you are looking for an xmas present for dad or brother.
4.5 out of 5 stars
NOTE; my photos will be upload when i am able..
