Finally have a football club….. Ratoath Harps FC

So after what has simply been a crappy few weeks for Dylan and his dreams of playing football we have new club for him. The journey at Killegland AFC is over. While I did take on the mantle of manager for the 2015/16 season the team quickly fell apart after my number two had to pull away for personal reasons. No other parents were willing to step up and help keep the team together so I was left with no option other than to call it a day……

This was a late enough call as I needed to find Dylan a club and most clubs had trials in early July. Dylan is a football nut, He has played for Bohemians FC, Ashbourne Utd and Killegland AFC, Scoring close to 40 goals last season at least 20 assist he has a dream of just playing football at the top level for a living. Its going to be a hard road and lets be honest the odds may be against him but he is level headed, has talent and is now starting a new chapter at Ratoath Harps.

Turning up last night he was not phased by meeting new friends/teammates and a new Manager and coach. Being a coach for a number of years I was really pleased to see the great approach these guys had with the kids. Goal setting, fitness, nutrition, and having fun all on the agenda.

This is a massive year for Dylan, Summer 2016 is UK trials with the big clubs. He has a lot of work ahead, it will be hard but we are focused and he wants it that bad that we are willing to do what it takes to hopefully get him there. 11 months and counting…….
